What makes Shining Light Studios wedding photography so different?

€ Sensitivity to the couples needs.

We have a consultation before each wedding where we sit down with the couple and discuss the dream for every unique wedding. Weather you want your favorite pet in your wedding, or you don’t like your profile, we want to know about what is important to you. For your formals we set out exactly what shots you want and can give you a great estimation on how long your request will take. We do not want to waste your time with shots that just are in our head. Formals have taken ten minutes to two hours, it just depends on what the couple wants! We are fast, courteous, and flexible. If, at your wedding you choose to have us do more, not a problem we are there for you!

€Full day coverage.

Every wedding is full day coverage. What does that exactly mean? When we say FULL DAY we mean that your wedding is the only one we book on that day so if you want Michael to be at the grooms breakfast and Melissa to photograph the girls getting their nails done, there is no extra charge for that, it is part of EVERY wedding.

€ Two perspectives.

Every wedding gets Michael (lead photographer) and Melissa (artistic designer/ second photographer) to photograph their wedding. We believe that the only way to adequately cover a wedding is to have at least two well trained photographers. Too much happens at a wedding to try to do it with one person. At Shining Light Studios this service is just part of quality assurance.

€Tried and true timing.

Photojournalism by definition means that the photographer does not interfere with the action, in fact our hope is that the subjects forget we are there. During the ceremony the key is planning. We try to always go to the rehearsal and watch how the wedding will flow. We catch the kiss, the ring, the father giving away the bride in the moment.After the ceremony (or before) we do the formals and funshots, these are posed. At the reception, we give direction as to how the ceremonies will look best but some things are just about great timing!!

€ Attention to detail.

If you are getting a custom designed album you will appreciate the texture of some of the details. After all you carefully picked the décor and you will want to remember it. We also try to be sensitive about emotion and try to capture it wherever it happens. (and at a wedding some of the most unlikely people show emotion)

€Don’t forget the groom!

In all of the hustle and bustle of a wedding everyone concentrates on the bride, but we know after many years of marriage that bride will want to see many pictures of her handsome sweetheart. (and so will his mother)

€Award-Winning Photography.

Every bride deserves an award-winning photographer to capture the essence of her beauty. Your wedding day is one of your most beautiful days and you need a competent professional to show it off!

€ Custom designed Albums.

We personally design every album that leaves our studio. That way we can personalize that album to each unique bride’s style. Only someone who knows her is capable of capturing her personality. If you choose to have an album for your wedding we do not send out for the design.

€Viewing cards for every wedding.

We pass out a glossy business card with a picture of the couple/bride on one side and step-by-step instructions to every guest on how to view all of your approved photographs online. That way relatives may see them for free and if they want one they can purchase them. This service is given to EVERY bride at no extra charge.

€Our Famous Survival kit.

This kit has everything you did not know you forgot. It is a big tackle box that seems to be getting heavier and heavier. It includes a fake ring and wedding dress stain removal. It’s always a big hit!
